Mildred Grady Gilliland, 93, of Kansas City, Missouri, was born, Monday, January 5, 1920, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Ollie Spencer and Leta Jane (Coleman) McMillin. She departed this life at 7:44 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Newmark Care Center, Kansas City.

She was a 1937 North East High School graduate.

On August 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to Donald S. Grady; she later married Robert N. Gilliand on September 15, 1961, in Miami, Oklahoma.

Mildred was a homemaker. She was a member of Alpha Chapter #507 Order of the Eastern Star and former member of the Northland Cathedral Assembly of God, Kansas City.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Macey McMillin and LeRoy McMillin, and one sister Hazel Ruck.

Mildred is survived by her husband Robert of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; four daughters Marceleen (and Robert) Haralson of Carl Junction, Missouri, Dona (and Russell Jr.) Jones of Platte Woods, Missouri, Deborah Lieurance of Gladstone, Missouri, and Sheryl (and Rick) Lavelock of Pleasant Hill; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; other relatives; and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the funeral home. Reverend Ronald "Tom" Lieurance officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jay Haralson, Zachary Haralson Jeremy Jones, Jake Lavelock, Scott Lavelock, and Colby Lieurance. Flower girls are Amy Hankins, Caroline Lavelock, Janelle Lieurance, and Christian Ruhl.

Visitation was held prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
