Naomi F. Davis

Naomi Faye Davis, 92, of Belton, formerly of Lee’s Summit and Pleasant Hill, was born, June 15, 1929, in Urich, the daughter of John R. and Edith F. (Graef) Bailey.  She departed this life Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Carnegie Village Health Center surrounded with love and family.

Naomi attended Rural School (Brush College) and graduated from Appleton City High School in 1947.

On October 7, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Eugene Davis in Appleton City and to this union two sons were born.   Lawrence preceded her in death on October 11, 2012.

Naomi was employed at Citizen Bank in Appleton City, but after marrying Lawrence, became a full-time homemaker, occasionally working as Postmaster in Strasburg.  She was a former member of the the Appleton City Eastern Star and the Lone Jack Garden Club. She was member of the Strasburg Union Church.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards and board games, watching sports (especially college basketball and the Royals).  Most important was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joy of her life.

Naomi was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Bailey and Edward Bailey.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Kenneth Eugene and Marie Davis of Raymore, and Roy William and Julie Davis of Oak Grove; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Visitation were held Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the funeral home followed by funeral services. Pastor Dennis Davis officiated.  Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Casket bearers were Matt Chisesi, Tyler Chisesi, Brad Davis, Bryce Davis, Ryan Day, and Kyle Mueller.
