Patricia A. Ezell

September 17, 1942 — August 25, 2022

Patricia Ann Ezell, 79, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born September 17, 1942, in Richfield Springs, New York, the daughter of Martin Charles and Margaret Ann (Connolly) Traudt.  She departed this life Thursday, August 25, 2022, at her home surrounded with love and family.

Pat was a 1960 Richfield Springs High School graduate.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica, New York in 1963.

On January 22, 1966, she was united in marriage to Howard Raymond Ezell at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

Pat was a Registered Nurse with Cass Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri, for over forty years.  During her nursing career she enjoyed a variety of positions including Director of Nursing, ICU nurse and supervisor, surgery nurse and supervisor.  A trait that set Pat apart was her desire to see others succeed.  Her unselfish leadership paved the way for hospital staff across many departments to advance their careers, since Pat extended respect and camaraderie to all that she knew.  Her servant heart remains part of her family legacy and will no doubt continue as a testament to her love for all.  She was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening (especially her flower gardens), and traveling.  She especially treasured family gatherings with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Barbara Gaylord and Margaret Rapenske.

She is survived by her loving husband Howard of Pleasant Hill; four adoring children:  Margaret (and Jim) Hallman of Urbandale, Iowa, Mary (and Mike) Schrage of Salina, Kansas, Melissa (and Doug) Dawson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Steve (and Meribeth) of Lone Jack, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Abby Hallman, Megan (and Drake) Moser, Amanda Hallman, Emily (and Ethan) Fairbanks, Sarah Schrage, Andrew Schrage, Ashley Schrage, John Ezell, Sophie Ezell, Maggie Ezell, and Will Ezell; one brother Richard (and Joan) Traudt of Port St. Lucie, Florida; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

Visitation and Recitation of the Rosary was held Friday, September 2, 2022, at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill.  Father Curt Vogel officiated.  Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Bridget Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
