PATRICIA ANN WAGNER

Patricia “Patty” Wagner, 73, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born September 13, 1951, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the daughter of John and Jeanette (Pohl) Ross. She departed this life on Monday, July 21, 2025, at her home surrounded with love and family.

Patty was a 1969 Ruskin High School graduate. While in high school she was on the “A” honor roll and loved participating in Pep Club as well as several other activities.

On February 14, 1971, she was united in marriage to Richard Dale “Rick” Wagner in Kansas City and to this union two daughters, Cynthia and Sherry, were born. In Rick’s own words he shares “Patty was the most loving wife a husband could ask for. Nothing escaped her attention to the needs of her family. All-loving was her way of life. No judgement, just unconditional love.”

Patty was first employed as an Executive Secretary for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Following the birth of their first daughter, Cindy, she became a homemaker. As the girls began their college careers she returned to the workforce as a Data Processor for the Internal Revenue Service.

Patty was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill. She also regularly attended Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit as her granddaughter, Ali Biernbaum, attends OLP Catholic school.

She enjoyed working in her rock gardens and with the flowers Rick planted for her, was an avid reader, and loved the arts, especially the dinner theatre and movies.

Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren Gwen, Weston, and Ali. She was the personification of love and family.

Patty is survived by her husband, Rick of Pleasant Hill; two daughters, Cynthia Biernbaum and Sherry (and Brian) King of Lee’s Summit; three grandchildren, Alison Biernbaum, Gwen King, and Weston King; two siblings, Donald (and Jayna) Ross of Grain Valley and Linda (and Tom) Barnes of Great Bend, Kansas; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Recitation of the Rosary, visitation, Mass of Christian Burial were held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill. Reverend Curt Vogel officiated. Casket bearers were David Bahner, Russell Dickey, Denise Hanlon, Steve Kaiser, Brian King, and Sean Livingston. Honorary casket bearer was Don Ross Sr. Cremation was accorded following services. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions may be left at the church on the day of the service and may also be sent in care of the funeral home.
