Paul Joseph Brownsberger, 78, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born July 12, 1947, in Appleton City, Missouri, the son of Andrew J. and Teresa (Koch) Brownsberger. He departed this life, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by love and family.

Paul was a 1965 Ballard, Missouri High School graduate.

He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran.

On November 22, 1975, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Ann Klein at the St. Bridget Catholic Church in Pleasant Hill and to this union two children, Patric and Susan were born.

Paul was employed as a Grower for the A.D. Mohr Greenhouse in Pleasant Hill for 28 years. He later worked for Stahl’s Specialty Co. in Kingsville, Hy-Vee in Lee’s Summit, and Price Chopper in Pleasant Hill. He was a member of the St. Bridget Catholic Church and served as Rosary leader. He also served on the Tri-County water board and Cass County Water District #5. He enjoyed gardening, working in his greenhouse, and growing orchids. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and making homemade wine. Above all he enjoyed spending time with family; especially his grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his wife Cynthia of their home; two children, Patric (and Cindy) Brownsberger of Oak Grove and Susan (and Jerold) Maasen of Pleasant Hill; four grandchildren, Michael Maasen, Andrew Brownsberger, Josie Brownsberger, and Cheyenne Maasen; five siblings, Margaret (and Robert) Bradshaw of Harrisonville; Martha (and Donald) Lawton of Flower Mound, Texas, Virginia Svatos of Basehor, Kansas, Gereon Brownsberger (and Tina) of Lockwood, Missouri, and Edith (and Jerry) Prinds of Louisburg, Kansas; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Recitation of the Rosary, visitation, and Mass of Christian Burial were held Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, Pleasant Hill. Reverend Curt Vogel officiated. Graveside military services and interment were held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Army and the V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers were Andrew Brownsberger, Michael Maasen, Jason Svatos, Mark Clemmons, Randy Greufe, and Tim Long. Honorary casket bearers were Gereon Brownsberger and Donald Lawton.

Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
