Paul Allen Farnsworth, 92, of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Pleasant Hill, was born, March 23, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Samuel A. and Bertie R. (Hixson) Farnsworth. He departed this life, Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the Hope Hospice House in Lehigh Acres, Florida, surrounded with love and family.
Paul was a Blairstown high school graduate.
He was a United States Air Force Korean War veteran.
On December 21, 1952, he was united in marriage to Shirley E. Feasel in Shawnee Mound.
Paul was employed as a Stockman for the Sears & Roebuck Mail Order Co. for 39 years retiring in 1987. Following retirement, he went to work for the A.D. Mohr Greenhouse in Pleasant Hill. Paul also worked as a Funeral Assistant for the Stanley & Son Funeral Home for over 25 years. He was a Deacon and former member of the Pleasant Hill First Baptist church, the Strasburg Baptist Church, and was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church in Ft. Myers. He enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling extensively, and working in his garden.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Clifton Farnsworth, Fern Farnsworth, Orbie Farnsworth, and Gilbert Farnsworth; three sisters, Sylvia Jordan, Madge Bohannon, and Wanda Wiskur.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Ft. Myers; three sons, Mark (and Jane) Farnsworth of Ft. Myers, Keith (and Cheryl) Farnsworth of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and Scott (and Shelia) Farnsworth of Lehigh Acres; one daughter, Connie (and Tom) Fausset of St. James City, Florida; four grandchildren, Joseph (and Deborah) Farnsworth of Centerville, Ohio, Stacey (and Khedric) Cash of Ft. Myers, Ryan (and Sophie) Farnsworth of Brooklyn, New York, and Trevor Farnsworth of New York, New York; two great grandchildren, Kaleb Farnsworth and Leah Farnsworth; his nephew, Gary (and Linda) Farnsworth of Pleasant Hill; several other nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the funeral home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the funeral home. Reverend Preston Sanders officiated. Interment was in the Farnsworth Cemetery, near Holden, with full military honors by the United States Air Force and the V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor guard. Casket bearers were Mark Farnsworth, Keith Farnsworth, Scott Farnsworth, Joseph Farnsworth, Ryan Farnsworth, and Trevor Farnsworth. Honorary casket bearers were Arlen Mitchell, Clyde Ross, Lloyd Ross, and Clark Stanley.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home or Hope Hospice House and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
