Peggy S. Hart

Peggy Suzanne Hart, 62, of Kingsville, was born November 16, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip E. and Dolores L. (Hanna) Crotty. She departed this life, Thursday, September 25, 2025, at home with family by her side.

Peggy was a 1981 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

In 1981, she was united in marriage to Isaac D. Slayden and to this union three children, Phillip, Peter, and Krystal were born; they later divorced. On July 25, 1997, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Kelly L. Hart, in Pleasant Hill and to this union one son, Bo, was born; Kelly survives of their home.

Peggy was employed as a secretary for CO-OP in Pleasant Hill and for State of Missouri Vocation Rehabilitation for Schoools. She had also been a bus driver for the Pleasant Hill R-III school district. Above all she was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, especially to California, working diamond art puzzles, and time spent at her happy place, the lake. Above all she loved her family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Dolores Crotty; one son, Phillip Lee Slayden; sister-in-law, Lena Crotty; and her ex-husband, Isaac D. Slayden.

She is survived by her husband, Kelly of Kingsville; three children, Peter J. (and Ashley) Slayden of Garden City, Krystal (and Jeremy Mullin) Slayden and Bo L. (and Taylor) Hart both of Pleasant Hill; nine grandchildren, Kinleigh, Colton, Corrigan, Cooper, Kyla, Callum, Jack, Kamren, and Callie; three siblings, Walter “Butch” Crotty, Dawn Crotty, and Jimmy (and Kathy) Crotty, all of Pleasant Hill; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial visitation was held Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
