Peggy Yvonne Schiefelbine, 80, of Greenwood, was born October 12, 1945, in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of Willis E. and Anna (Williams) Jones. She departed this life Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded with love and family.
Peggy attended school in Chanute, Kansas.
On March 1, 1963, she was united in marriage to Ronald Schiefelbine in Chanute, and to this union two daughters Rhonda and Lisa were born. Ron was a devoted, loving husband, and they enjoyed over 63 years of marriage.
Peggy and Ron owned D&R Toys in historic downtown Lee’s Summit from 1993 to 2002, and they poured their hearts into it. After retiring they embraced a life of travel and adventure, becoming snowbirds and spending their winters at East Lake Camp in Florida, where they enjoyed working as cast members at the Emporium on Main Street in Magic Kingdom. Peggy delighted in the magic of the experience and the friendships she made. She especially loved travelling to Treasure Lake in Branson where she spent treasured time with family and friends and fully embraced the RV lifestyle. Whether on the road or at home she found joy in the simple meaningful moments in life – sharing meals, reading, sewing, playing cards, and spending time with her beloved fur babies and fur grandbabies.
Starting as a young child she carried a spirit of honesty, strength, and compassion that would define her entire life and will be long remembered for that honesty and a strong work ethic, loving heart, compassion, and strong-willed spirit. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her and her steady presence will be missed and her legacy will live on in the family and friends who loved her dearly and they will carry her memory forward with gratitude and love.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Willis and Anna Jones; and siblings, Jim Jones, Dixie Owens, Darrell Jones, Jerry Jones, and Larry Jones.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Schiefelbine of Greenwood; two daughters, Rhonda Burch and Lisa Schiefelbine, both of Lee’s Summit; her fur grandbaby, Jasper; other relatives and friends.
