B. “Pete” Marshall McCauley, 87, of Blue Springs, was born November 3, 1937, in Marlborough, Missouri, the son of Eugene L. Sr., and Jessie F. (Anders) McCauley. He departed this life Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the New Haven Living Center in Odessa.
Pete was a 1955 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
He was a United States Army veteran serving from April 8, 1957 to March 29, 1959.
In 1960 he was united in marriage to Betty Ann McClendon. They later divorced.
Pete was employed as a union truck driver for Ted Wilkinson Construction and later for APAC Construction. He was a member of the Operating Engineers union serving Teamsters Local #101 and later for Local #541. He was a member of the Amsterdam Masonic Lodge #141 A.F. & A.M. and had been affiliated with Raytown Lodge #361 and Jewel Lodge #480 Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed tractors and liked to attend tractor shows.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eugene “Gene” McCauley, Jr. and Jerry McCauley.
He is survived by his long-time friend and companion, Patricia Dierker of Odessa; two sons, Steve M. (and Leah) McCauley of Sunrise Beach and Lance R. (and Karen) McCauley of Lee’s Summit; seven grandchildren, Charles (and Ashley) Garrison, Amy Luther, Katelyn Kirby, Audra McCauley Brandon (and Alex) McCauley, Alexis (and Keith) Torrez, and Cara McCauley; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenney (and Toni) McCauley of Blue Springs; one sister, Judy (and Bill) Parrish of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Staley Mound Cemetery, Pleasant Hill. Full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and V.F.W. Post #3118, Pleasant Hill.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Staley Mound Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
