RAYMOND L. “TAG” FORD
Raymond Leroy “Tag” Ford, 85, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, November 4, 1932, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the son of Charles Henry and Daisy Dixie (Miller) Ford. He departed this life, Sunday, June 3, 2018, at the St. Luke’s East Medical center surrounded with love and family.
Tag was a 1950 Pittsburg High School graduate.
On December 30, 1950, he was united in marriage to Geraldine “Gerry” Williamson in Pittsburg; she preceded him in death on September 12, 2012. On May 13, 2013, was united in marriage to Eva Christine (Vancil) Bell in Harrisonville; she survives.
Tag was employed as a Lineman for KCP&L retiring in 1993. He had been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed coaching kid’s baseball, collecting unique and different items, and a good auction. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Tag was also preceded in death by one son Chris Ford on May 15, 2009; one brother, George “Bud” Ford; and one sister, Charlene Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Eva of Pleasant Hill; one son, Clayton (and Linda) Ford of St. Augustine, Florida; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Ford of Pleasant Hill; one stepson Tim (and Eileen) Soldner; one step daughter, Janette (and Mark) Pruitt of Overland Park; grandchildren Toby (and Katie) Ford of Austin, Texas, Nick (and Genie) Ford of Augusta, Kansas, Kelli (and Andrew) Winemiller of Pittsburg, Kansas, Cody Ford of Pleasant Hill, and Travis (and Oliccia) Ford of Pleasant Hill; ten great grandchildren Serenity Ford, Jack Ford, Addie Ford , Christopher Ford, Lily Winemiller, Hudson Ford, Jaxon Ford, Taylor Ford, Harper Ford, and Triton Ford; one sister, Sharon (and Dan) Sisk of McCune, Kansas; other relatives and friends
Cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service was held Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the funeral home. Reverend Wyatt Shanks officiated. Inurnment followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy Food Pantry and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
