Norman V. Ennis, 74, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Monday, January 16, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Napoleon B. and Myrtie S. (Morris) Ennis. He departed this life Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Holden Manor Care Center, in Holden, Missouri.

On June 10, 1955, Norman was united in marriage to Jo Elaine Whitfield in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Norman was a United States Air Force veteran honorably serving his country from 1950-1954.

In 1961 he was ordained as a Southern Baptist Minister. He served 11 churches from 1960 to 1994 in Texas, Missouri, and Washington state. He was Director of Missions for the Salt River Association in Missouri from 1994 to 1997.

He pastured at Hickory Grove Baptist Church from 1976 to 1984. After retiring from the Salt River Association in 1997 he was called back to the Hickory Grove Baptist church until his full time retirement in 1999. He was a still a member there. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his son William (Bill) D. Ennis and his wife Catherine of Pleasant Hill, 3 granddaughters Breanna Miller and her husband Nathan of Wichita, Kansas, and Miranda & Samantha Ennis, both of Pleasant Hill; 1 great granddaughter, Leah Miller of Wichita; 1 brother, James L. Ennis and his wife Elizabeth of Portland, Oregon, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. Reverend's Floyd Beasley and Mark Conway officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Brian Becker, Nathan Miller, David Parris, Dean Wille, Jordan Williamson, and Perry Wilmoth. Honorary casket bearers were Lowell Rector and Larry Wille.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hickory Grove Baptist church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
