Richard Lee Airrington, 84, of Pleasant Hill, was born July 5, 1942, in Lone Jack, the son of Vernon Issac and Viola Mae (Pemberton) Airrington. He departed this life Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home surrounded with love and family.

Richard was employed as a Union Roofer with Local #20. He enjoyed camping, hunting, working on his hot rod cars, listening to blue grass music, and his dogs. Above all he loved being a grandpa.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Viola; two brothers, Lloyd Vernon Airrington and Larry James “Butch” Airrington; and one granddaughter, Jessica LeAnn Kuntz.

He is survived by his four children; Lisa (and Brian) Brewer and Deborah Kuntz, of Baldwin Park, Richard Lee (and Wendy) Airrington II of Pleasant Hill, and Celesta (and Joseph Jr.) Mark of Drexel; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; 2 expected great grandchildren; five siblings, Ethel (and David) Burns of Tarsney Lake; Beverly Louis “Bimbo” Airrington of Bates City, Alan Wayne (and Dee) Airrington of Tarsney Lake, Marylin Kay (and John) Pinkerton of Springer, Oklahoma, and Eleanor Fay Gallaway of Tarsney Lakes; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Reverend James Stanfield-Myers will officiate.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
