Robert Louis “Bob” Gragg, 90, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, October 2, 1932, in Kennett, Kansas, the son of Attrell A. and Gertrude E. (Sims) Gragg. He departed this life Monday, October 24, 2022, at the St. Luke’s East Hospital surrounded with love and family.
Bob was a United States Navy Korean War Veteran.
On March 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Edith “Edee” Anne Lawrence in Kansas City, Missouri.
Bob was employed as a Vending Machine Mechanic. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Kansas City and was currently attending the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ray Merlin Walsh; one daughter, Lori Diane Hood; one brother, Ralph Gragg; and one sister, Doris Marie Fellers.
He is survived by his wife, Edith “Edee” Gragg of Pleasant Hill; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (and Mark) Deaton of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Jo Walsh of Chicken Creek, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Lindsay (and Chris) Bessmer of Blue Springs, Missouri; Alison M. (and Jeremy) Farr, Clayton, D. Hood, Rebecca (and Matt) Hevel, all of Lee’s Summit, and Jeff Walsh of Pleasant Hill; seven great grandchildren, McCoy, Lucia, Loralai, Preston, Abby, Lilly, and Jayden; one brother, Richard (and Iris) Gragg of Appleton City, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Mae Robertson of Bolivar, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relative and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 28, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor James Stanfield-Meyers officiated. Interment was in the Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee’s Summit. Graveside military honors were conducted by the United States Navy and the Veterans of Foreign wars Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers were Chris Bessmer, Mark Deaton, Jeremy Farr, Tyler Farr, Matt Hevel, and Dan Hood. Honorary casket bearers were Richard Gregg and Clayton Hood.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
