Robert L. "Bob" Reynolds

October 12, 1934 — May 29, 2026

Pleasant Hill, Missouir

Robert Lee “Bob” Reynolds, 91, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born October 12, 1934, in Raytown, Missouri, the son of Russell Raymond and Marie Genevieve (Wimmer) Reynolds. He departed this life Friday, May 29, 2026, at his home.

Bob was a 1952 Lee’s Summit High School graduate.

On October 21, 1954, he was united in marriage to Janice B. Maloney in Kingsville, Missouri, and to this union two children, Harvey and Laurie, were born.

Bob was a lifelong farmer. He and Russell operated a dairy in Lee’s Summit until the family farm/dairy was moved to a new location east of Pleasant Hill in 1970. Harvey joined the dairy operation in 1980. After closing the dairy barn in 1996, Bob, Russell, and Harvey continued working on the farm, raising cattle and grain. Running the farm was a true passion for Bob; and he worked all the way to the end as he was out in his tractor, mowing and discing just one day before his passing. He had been serving on the board of the Public Water Supply District #5 of Cass County for 39 years. Bob was a member of the Kingsville Seventh-day Adventist Church. He enjoyed traveling (The kids remember many spontaneous road trips across the United States—especially to Colorado.) and evening jaunts around the farm checking the cows and watching the deer.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Betty J. “Biz” Reynolds in 2011; and his sister, Betty M. Reynolds in 2019.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Janice of the home; two children, Harvey (and Crystal) Reynolds of Kingsville, and Laurie (and Larry) Pope of Pleasant Hill; four grandchildren, Rob Reynolds and Kevin Reynolds, both of Pleasant Hill, Bryan Pope of Everett, Washington, and Sara Pope of Centerville, Ohio; other relatives and friends.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Strasburg Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Kingsville Seventh-day Adventist Church. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring Bob’s memory by sharing stories, laughter, and love.
