Robert Wayne Smiley, 56, of Pleasant Hill, was born Friday, November 4, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Milfred Samuel and Dorothy Elizabeth (Byler) Smiley. He departed this life at 12:04 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Lee's Summit Medical Center.

Robert attended school through 8th grade in Strasburg and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1974.

Robert was a gifted maintaince man last working for Georgia Pacific in Kansas City. He was a member of the Strasburg Baptist Church and a Master Mason.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy on December 7, 2008.

He is survived by his father Milfred of Pleasant Hill; his daughters Janelle (and Zachary) Gould of Lee's Summit, and Emilee Walker of Bonner Springs, Kansas; great granddaughter Paisley Gould of Lee's Summit; his best friend Lou Clark of Pleasant Hill; other relatives; and a friends.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Lone Jack Cemetery.
