Rosalie Hummel

Rosalie Hummel, 92, of Oak Grove, was born August 10, 1923, in Henley, Missouri, the daughter of George C. and Julie A. (McGhee) Martin. She departed this life, Saturday, July 16, 2016, at St. Mary's Manor in Blue Springs.

Rosalie was a 1941 East High School, Kansas City Graduate.

On April 20, 1942, she was united in marriage to Cris Hummel in Belton, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1986.

Rosalie was also preceded in death by one son, Walter Hummel in 2012, four sisters, and 3 brothers.

She is survived by three sons, Chris (and Glenna) Hummel of Pleasant Hill, John (and Cindy) Hummel of Blue Springs, Tim (and Cheryl) Hummel of Butler; daughter-in-law, Gayle Hummel of Oak Grove; 11 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Sweeney of Chico, California; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the funeral home. Chaplain Lori Hildrich officiated. Graveside services and interment followed in the St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery, Florence, Missouri. Casket bearers were Denton Cunningham, Omar Fierros, Ethan Hummel, Isaac Hummel, John Hummel, Scott Hummel, and Blake Schlie.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Mary's Manor Chapel and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
