Rosemary Stockman

ROSEMARY STOCKMAN

Rosemary Stockman, 80, of Pleasant Hill, was born February 4, 1937, in Higginsville, the daughter of Marvin and Daisy (Stapleton) Bird. She departed this life, Friday, April 14, 2017, at John Knox Hospice Village House surrounded with love and family.

Rosemary was a 1955 Higginsville High School graduate.

On May 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to Billy G. Stockman in Higginsville.

Rosemary was employed as an account clerk for the Missouri Highway Patrol and retired in 1997.  Prior to her time with the patrol, she had also worked for the Sears catalog store in Lee’s Summit, Unity Village, and Dillard’s.  She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church and the Lee’s Summit Friendship-Bingo Club.  She was an avid quilter and was actively involved with both the Lee’s Summit and Pleasant Hill Quilters Guilds. She also enjoyed flower gardening, china painting, oil painting, and working with stained glass.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Donald Bird and Danny Bird.

She is survived by her husband Bill of the home; one daughter, Michelle (and Mike) McKee of Hartsburg, Missouri; one son Michael (and Dena) Stockman of Pleasant Hill; 5 grandchildren, Tyler McKee of Lee’s Summit, Jaclyn (and Chris) Reeder of Columbia, Susan McKee of Hartsburg, Stephanie Stockman and Jamie (and Garrett) Coillot, both of Pleasant Hill; 2 great grandchildren, Kyle and Alex; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held  Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the funeral home.   Pastor D. Kent Deubner officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Doug Bird, Maury Bird, Charlie Brown, Garrett Coillot, Curt Jones, & Tyler McKee. Honorary casket bearers were Donnell James and Glendon Ullery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to John Knox Village Foundation Hospice or Pleasant Hill First Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
