Ruby Spear

Ruby Louise Spear, 66, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, Saturday, March 1, 1947, in Waverly Missouri the daughter of Herbert and Lillie (Drosselmeyer) Meyer. She departed this life at 9:35 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at her daughter's home in Pleasant Hill, surrounded with love and family.

She was raised on a farm near Blackburn, Missouri. In 1964 she graduated from the Santa Fe High School in Grand Pass, Missouri. She moved to Pleasant Hill in 1973.

Ruby was employed for First Federal Savings and Loan for over 40 years, including the Pleasant Hill branch, before it closed.

Her hobbies included fishing and any type of Do It Yourself projects. Most importantly were her children and grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Donna Jean Russell.

She is survived by one daughter Donell (and Jim) Ralston of Pleasant Hill; one son Chris (and Jennifer) Spear of Pleasant Hill; one sister Nancy (and Joe) Meyer of Independence, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

A memorial visitation was held Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to John Knox Village Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
