Ruth Marie Ferguson Danforth-Redford, 94, lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, was born February 19, 1931, the daughter of Lavale B. and Blanche E. (Sigler) Ferguson. She departed this life Friday, October 24, 2025, at her daughter's home surrounded with love and family.

Ruth was a 1949 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.

On March 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Clarence John Danforth and to this union two sons, Steven and Bicky were born. John preceded her in death on January 31, 1964. In 1968 she was united in marriage to Frank Lee Redford and to this union one daughter Frankie was born. Frank preceded her in death on January 10, 1985.

Ruth had been employed as a Tax Assessor for Cass County, Police Dispatcher for the Pleasant Hill Police Department, Pleasant Hill City Hall water billing, an E.M.T. for the Pleasant Ambulance, and finished her working career at Marion Laboratories Inc. in Kansas City. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church where she served as president of the Christian Women's Fellowship and as Deacon, both for many years. She served as president of the P.T.A. She served as Councilman-At-Large for the city of Pleasant Hill from 1982-1986.

Above all Ruth loved her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them.

Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steven Danforth in 1969; and her siblings, Lavale Ferguson, Okemah Hamilton, Jack Conrad, Garland Ferguson and an infant who died at birth.

She is survived by one sister, Norma June Ford ( of Harrisonville, MO) her son and daughter-in-law, Bicky and Linda Danforth of Holden; her daughter and son-in-law, Frankie (and Rusty) Lees of Pleasant Hill; and Marcus (and Willa) Redford, of Chillicothe, MO; 7 grandchildren, Anthony (and Dina) Ellis, Steven (and Amanda) Danforth, Brandon (and Gracyn) Lees, Devin Lees,Tammi Jones, Amber (and Craig)Sowers and April Redford. Great grandchildren; Taylor, Carter, Hailey, Vicki, Kensie, Wayde, Ziva, Warren, Brayden, Abby, and Matthew; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at the funeral home. Pastor Preston Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Anthony Ellis, Steven Danforth, Brandon Lees, Devin Lees, Taylor Danforth, and Carter Danforth. Honorary casket bearers are Wayde Lees, Warren Lees, and Ziva Lees.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
