Ryan Vescovi

October 2, 1972 — September 17, 2021

RYAN J. VESCOVI

Ryan Jackson Vescovi, 48, lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, was born, October 2, 1972, in Harrisonville, the son of Guido and Phyllis (Cook) Vescovi. He departed this life, Friday, September 17, 2021, at Research Medical Center, with his wife, Lisa, and his daughter, Vanna, by his side.

Ryan was a 1991 Pleasant Hill High School graduate known for his time on the football field and as a town prankster. His most memorable prank was putting soap in the downtown Pleasant Hill fountain and adding a fan to make the largest bubbles the police department has ever seen.

On May 15, 2004, he was united in marriage to Lisa Danielle Klima at Lone Summit Ranch, Lone Jack.

Ryan owned and operated his family’s restaurant, Guido’s Pizzeria, in Pleasant Hill. He and Lisa also owned and operated Kidz, Inc. since 2009. Earlier in his career he managed a couple of Sonic restaurants in the Kansas City area and had worked for Freedom Cycles.  He never sat still and was often seen working hard on all his properties in town. He was a member of the former Pleasant Hill Golf League, the Pleasant Hill Community United Way, and was serving his third term on the Pleasant Hill R-III Board of Education.

Ryan was always young at heart and he worked hard so he could play hard. As busy as he was, Ryan lived his best life with his family and friends whether it was at home or at the lake. His relaxation and joy came most while he was on his boat entertaining and spending time with Lisa, his three boys, his daughter, his grandchildren, and so many family and friends. Ryan was a collector of sports cars; it could be said he had a life-size Hot Wheels collection throughout his life. Ryan was also a sports fanatic. He enjoyed playing golf in his free time, and he could rattle off the stats of any professional athlete in any sport. On the rare occasion Ryan would sit still, he could be found watching classic movies with his wife and children. He especially enjoyed Star Wars and spent time growing his collection of sports memorabilia and Star Wars collectables. Playing video games was another of Ryan’s favorite pastimes. He would gather numerous people and host Halo tournaments. He was also known as the master of Pac-man, who could not be beat.

Ryan was a person of faith.  Baptized when he was 15 years old he believed in God and led his life adhering to the word. He carried scripture in his heart and could recite the words of the Bible from memory. Ryan shared scripture in conversations with others to enrich their lives and led them to lean into The Almighty.

Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lina Vescovi; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Lucille Cook; and his uncle, Hugh Cobb.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Danielle Vescovi of Pleasant Hill; his daughter, Savanna Lea (Vescovi) Lewis of Pleasant Hill; son in-law, Justin Lewis of Pleasant Hill; three sons, Jackson Daniel Vescovi, Jasper Joseph Vescovi, and Jagger Ryan Vescovi, all of Pleasant Hill; two grandchildren, Sophia Lewis and Layne Lewis of Pleasant Hill; his parents, Guido Vescovi and Phyllis Vescovi of Pleasant Hill; stepmother, Kathy Feist-Vescovi of Kansas City; one half-brother, Adam Vescovi of Kansas City; one half-sister, Nicole Ivy Vescovi of Seattle, Washington; three aunts, Paula Carhart of Harrisonville, Laura Vescovi of Kansas City, Barbara Cobb of Oklahoma; seven cousins, Paul Leone of Harrisonville, Francine Leone of Ottawa, Kansas, Lena Harris of Kansas City, Andrea Wardlow of Kansas City, and Rachel Williams of Kansa City, Tony Cobb of Oklahoma, Shannon McCoy of Oklahoma; three in-laws, Ryan Klima of Las Vegas, Chad and Tara Tripp of Oak Grove; four nieces and nephews, Austin Klima, Callie Tripp, Chloee Tripp, and Brinlee Tripp all of Oak Grove; along with other relatives and a host of many friends.
