Formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri

Sandra Mae "Sandy" Bronson, 77, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born April 17, 1948, in Grand Junction, Colorado, the daughter of Edward and Anna May (Nygren) Karo. She passed away on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Sandy was a 1966 Nucla, Colorado High School graduate.

On November 19, 1966, she was united in marriage to Richard Thair Bronson in Independence, Missouri. Together they had three children Valya, Ron & John. Richard preceded her in death on September 23, 2024.

In addition to her devoted role as a mother, Sandra built a meaningful and accomplished professional life. In her younger years, she served as an EKG technician at the Independence Sanitarium and St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, Missouri. Her career also included leadership in restaurant management, where she was beloved for her sincere connections she formed with customers and staff alike. Sandra later dedicated many years to public service and retired from the Internal Revenue Service after a distinguished and respected career.

She will be remembered for her love of Jesus & His church, love of family, outgoing personality, love of nature (especially mountains, rocks, flowers & birds), love of reading and the numerous community involvement activities over the years including the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy and Food Pantry.

Sandy was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Matilda Ann Karo (who passed away in childhood), Ronald Erick Karo, Kenneth Karo and grandson Robert Bronson.

She is survived by her three children, Valya (and Doug) Broyer of Castle Rock, Colorado, Rondall Thair “Ron” (and Lori) Bronson of Lee’s Summit, and John David Bronson of Pleasant Hill; ten grandchildren, Tori, Kyle, Ashtin, Jordan, Ryan, Kayla, Eleanor, Tymber, Alicea, and Serenity; two great grandchildren, Asher & Thea; three brothers, Norman Ray (and Barbara) Karo of Fallon, Nevada, Roy (and Cathy) Karo of Grand Junction, Colorado and Alf Karo of Grand Junction, Colorado; many other relatives and friends.

Visitation and a celebration of her life was held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the funeral home.  Pastor J.R. Brown officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
