Shirley Elizabeth Farnsworth, 92, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born February 3, 1933, in Shawnee Mound, Missouri, the daughter of Faye A. and Myra E. (Stephenson) Feasel. She departed this life Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Amavida Assisted Living Center in Fort Myers.

Shirley was raised in the Shawnee Mound community near Clinton, Missouri, where she was active in the 4-H for seven years. She was a 1950 Clinton High School graduate and a 1953 St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing graduate where she earned her Registered Nursing license.

On December 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to Paul A. Farnsworth in Shawnee Mound. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2022.

Shirley was employed as a Registered Nurse her entire working career. She started with the Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls, Montana, while Paul was stationed at the Malmstrom Airforce Base. Upon returning to Missouri, she worked for Dr. Eklund for 25 years, 14 years as the School Nurse for the Pleasant Hill School District, and at Pediatric Associates in Kansas City for 8 years. In the early 1980's she also did some private nursing duty where one of her patients was Bess Truman. Following retirement, she and Paul worked for Clark and Eugenia Stanley as funeral assistants for many years. She was a former member of the Pleasant Hill First Baptist Church and Strasburg Baptist Church and was a current member of the Morning Star Baptist Church in Fort Myers. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Chapter DS of Pleasant Hill later transferring her membership to Fort Myers. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, reading, playing the organ, and singing in all the church choirs. She and Paul also loved to travel and especially enjoyed their trips to Israel, the Panama Canal, Spain, and Alaska.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by three sons, Mark (and Jane) Farnsworth of Fort Myers, Keith (and Cheryl) Farnsworth of Center Ossippee, New Hampshire, and Scott (and Shelia) Farnsworth of Lehigh Acres, Florida; one daughter, Connie (and Tom) Fausset of Fort Myers, Florida; four grandchildren, Joseph (and Deborah) Farnsworth, Stacey (and Khedric) Cash, Ryan (and Sophie) Farnsworth, and Trevor (and Cindy) Farnsworth; four great grandchildren, Kaleb Farnsworth, Leah Farnsworth, Zoe Farnsworth, and Ivy Farnsworth; her sister, Doris Hunter of Bolivar, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Visitation and funeral services were held Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Jason Shipley officiated. Interment was in the Farnsworth Cemetery near Holden, Missouri. Casket bearers were Mark Farnsworth, Keith Farnsworth, Scott Farnsworth, Joseph Farnsworth, Ryan Farnsworth, and Todd Burris. Honorary casket bearers were Trevor Farnsworth, Clyde Ross, Lloyd Ross, and Clark Stanley.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
