Infant Sophie LeAnne Schlagle, was born August 3, 2012, at Research Hospital in Kansas City. She was the daughter of Christopher Todd Schlagle and Davin Nickole Lyon. She departed this life a short time later as a result of injuries sustained by her mother in an automobile accident earlier that week near Pleasant Hill.

Precious Sophie died peacefully in the arms of her family. Her brief life was a beautiful and unforgettable gift to us that will live on in our hearts forever. We will always miss and love her.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Robert Corlew; maternal great-great grandparents Fred and Christine Hills, Aubrey & Louise Ferguson, and Wilma Rice.

Sophie is survived by her parents of Pleasant Hill; paternal grandmother Melissa Schlagle of Pleasant Hill; maternal grandparents Teresa and Tim Danner of Pleasant Hill, and Brad Smart of Clinton; paternal great grandparents Gerald and Donna Schlagle of Pleasant Hill; maternal great grandparents Marvin and Wanda Hills of Deepwater, Bob and Barbara Smart of Warsaw, and Don and Beverly Ward of Deepwater; paternal great grandmother Norma Stuart of North Kansas City; maternal uncles Nathan Slaybaugh of Grain Valley, and J. D. Danner and Jacob Danner, both of Ohio; maternal aunts Kylei Lyon of Liberty, Kiersten Danner of Pleasant Hill, Jackie Cruz and Jennifer Montanez, both of Texas; paternal great aunt Geri Anne Schlagle of Pleasant Hill; maternal great aunts and uncles Stephanie Robinson of Lee's Summit, Brenda McGarry of Shawnee, Ervin and Rita Bourland of Smithville, Theda Campbell of Smithville, Jim Danner of Holden, and Kim Cook of Clinton; paternal cousin Kaylin Smith of Garden City; 20 maternal cousins including Jackson Paul Danner, Layne Allen Schuster, Presley McGarry, Danielle Smedley, and Lucas Robinson.

Memorial services were held Saturday, August 18, 2012, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church officiated.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to an account set up at U.S. Bank in the name of Stephanie Robinson, Sophie's maternal great aunt, on behalf of Sophie and can be made at any U.S. Bank location. Contributions may also be sent in care of the funeral home.
