Stacy M. Wyzard

April 16, 1968 — September 27, 2023

Cleveland, Missouri

Stacy Michael Wyzard, 55, of Cleveland, Missouri, was born April 16, 1968, in Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of Marvin F. and Marlene E. (McMahon) Wyzard.  He departed this life Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas.

Stacy graduated from Ruskin High School in 1986 and was awarded a scholarship to attend Longview Community College.  He went on to earn an associate degree in the Automotive Service Excellence Program and worked in an apprenticeship at Christopher Pontiac until 1988. While working there, he also began working at United Parcel Service as a loader on the night shift in Lenexa, Kansas, where he continued to work for over 10 years.

Stacy married his high school sweetheart, Julie Ann Yates, on May 29, 1993, at First Church of the Nazarene in Kansas City, Missouri.  Stacy and Julie loved road trips, and had a family tradition go to Springfield, Missouri every year.  Favorite vacations included Myrtle Beach, South Carolian, where they celebrated their 25th anniversary with their best friends, Tina & Jason, and a 30th anniversary trip to Alaska this year.

Stacy was known for his integrity, hard work ethic and was a Master Auto Technician, earning the respect of his peers and customers alike.  He especially enjoyed his time working at King’s Auto Service in Stanley, Kansas where he met a fellow colleague, Donald Fulghum, in 1997, with whom he became fast friends.  A few years later, he moved into a service management position at Ashley Automotive in Blue Springs.  Eventually, he had the opportunity to work closer to home, and accepted a job at Winfrey’s Automotive in Grandview, Missouri.  When his boss, JT, retired in 2012, Stacy helped his good friend, Don, buy into the business, which is now known as Fulghum Auto Care.  Stacy was a great mentor to the younger technicians, and he loved his position at the shop.

Stacy was a member of Rock Brook Church where he enjoyed spending time with his men’s small group, building strong relationships over the last 20 years. He loved playing softball, racquet ball, bowling and fishing.  He was a great BBQ chef, a collector of Chiefs and Coca Cola memorabilia, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and playing games with his kids.  Stacy had an outstanding memory for lines from movies, song lyrics, and “useless information”.  He was the best storyteller, jokester, and never turned down the chance to engage in a good argument.  Above all, he was a great provider, a loyal friend, and always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.

Stacy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Thaddeus Anthony and Beulah Nadine (McCrery) McMahon; paternal grandparents, Roy Everett and Lucie Irene (Dooling) Wyzard; mother, Marlene Eager and stepfather, Bill Eager.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, of Cleveland; four children, Tucker Wyzard of Grandview, Missouri, Christian (and Kyndal) Wyzard of Kansas City, Missouri, Trinity Wyzard, and Collin Wyzard, both of Cleveland, Missouri; his father, Marvin, of Blue Springs, Missouri; one sister, Shauna Willoughby of Independence, Missouri; two special aunts, Vicky Lewis & Dorothy  “Lorene” Ellifrits, of Belton, Missouri; one uncle, Phil McMahon, of Grandview, Missouri; and several more relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life was held Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Rock Brook Church, Belton. Pastors Will Challacombe and Kelly Walter officiated, with musical guests, Pastor Ryland Walter and Tim Yates.  Casket bearers were Tucker Wyzard, Christian Wyzard, Collin Wyzard, C.C. Curry Jr., Pat McMahon, and Jason Slover.

Because Stacy was an avid Kansas City Chiefs Fan and season ticket holder for 35 years, the family invited everyone to wear Chiefs apparel for the service.  Following the service a tailgate style dinner was held in honor of Stacy, since that was one of his favorite past-times. Go Chiefs!!

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, are recommended to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F) or the National Federation of the Blind, which may be sent in care of the funeral home.
