Stephen Edward "Steve" Ezell, Jr., 93, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, formerly of Salinas, California, was born December 27, 1931, in Council Hill, Oklahoma, the son of Stephen Edgar and Gracie Ethel (Sloan) Ezell. He departed this life Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Steve lived in Turner Township, McIntosh, Oklahoma and Muskogee, Oklahoma, before moving to Salinas, California, in the 1950’s.

Steve was employed as a commercial farm manager for Grainger Farms in the Salinas Valley. He was gifted in carpentry and handcrafted numerous pieces of furniture for his family. He was also mechanically inclined and could fix anything with a motor, including cars, trucks, and all farm equipment. He was kindhearted and friendly and greatly enjoyed socializing and going to dances on the weekends after retiring to Missouri.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Euleta Marie, two sons, Steve Ezell and Kenneth Ezell; granddaughter, Tricia Ezell; his parents, Stephen and Gracie Ezell; nine siblings: Harley Clifford Ezell, John Buel Ezell, Niva Marie Benson, Ruby Vinson, Juanita Ezell, Amanda Rosetta Ezell, Clara Alma Ingram Carver, Franklin William Ezell, and JoAnn Ezell. On February 2, 2024, after fifteen years in a relationship with the true love of his life, he lost Laura “Lavaun” Clifton, of Adrian, Missouri.

He is survived by one daughter, Debra Kay Gillenwater-Tucker; and eight grandchildren, Shelly Daniels, Randy Gillenwater, Emily Ezell, Ashley Ezell, Dina Cardenas, Stephanie Stockton, Melissa Morasca, and Tera Rede. Locally he is survived by his brother, Howard Ezell; four nieces and nephews; Margaret (and Jim) Hallman, Mary (and Mike) Schrage, Melissa (and Doug) Dawson, and Steve (and Meribeth) Ezell; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded. No services are scheduled.
