Steven Walter Carlile, 61, of Lee’s Summit, was born October 29, 1964, in Pleasant Hill, the son of Donald Joshua and Lettie Lavonne (Viles) Carlile. He departed this life, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in a truck driving accident.

Steve was a 1982 Pleasant Hill High School graduate. While he was in high school, he excelled in football and basketball. Following high school, he played basketball at Missouri Valley College in Marshall before transferring to the University of Central Missouri where he earned an associate’s degree.

In 1988 he was united in marriage to Tami Terese Riddle in Pleasant Hill, and to this union two daughters, Lexi and Tori, were born. Steven and Tami later divorced.

Growing up he worked on the family farm, Carlile Farms, alongside his father, brother, uncles, and cousins, and often shared fond memories from those days. He was currently employed as a truck driver for Geiger Ready-Mix Concrete. Early in his career, he worked for Eldecon Electrical Design and Construction, with his father-in-law at his radiator shop, and owned his own Sports Card and Collectible store in Blue Springs. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Pleasant Hill. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia (especially anything with Michael Jordan), watching sports especially the Chiefs and MU Basketball, going to tractor pulls, mushroom hunting, and he loved the 4th of July. In recent years he enjoyed traveling with his father, collecting Pokémon cards with his daughters, and spending time with his granddaughter, Kylie. He was fond of animals, especially his cat Kobi who recently passed and Shaq, a kitten he recently rescued on the family farm.

Steve was preceded by his parents, Don and Lavonne.

He is survived by his daughters, Lexi Ann Lettie Carlile (and Brittany Bogan) of Oceanside, California, and Tori Terese (and Joe) Pastorelli of Lee’s Summit; his granddaughter, Kylie Pastorelli; his siblings, Donald Basil Carlile of Red Oak, Texas, and Jaylene Lavonne Shay of Clinton; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
