Suzanne Rhode

Chalet Suzanne Rhode, 57, of Greenwood, Missouri, was born Thursday, April 8, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Alpha Clifton and Betty Jo (Ballard) Hibdon. She departed this life Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the St. Luke's Hospital-East, Lee's Summit.

Suzie was a 1972 Lee's Summit High School Graduate. She was employed as a Payroll Administrator for the George J. Shaw Construction Company. Suzie was an active member of the Lee's Summit Elks Lodge #2804.

She was preceded in death by her father A.C. "Tiny" Hibdon just 11 days earlier on February 8, 2012; her mother Betty Jo on December 11, 1991; one son Stephen J. Rhode, Jr. on April 12, 2009; and one sister Vicki Lynn (Hibdon) Mehrer on March 17, 2007.

Suzie is survived by one son Chris (and Courtney) Rhodes of Greenwood; one daughter Andrea (and Matt) Tyree of Lee's Summit; one sister Cheryl (and Wayne) Cowley of Lee's Summit; two grandsons Declan Higgins and Logan Higgins of Greenwood; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service was held Friday, February 24, 2012, at the funeral home. Mr. Rick Mehrer officiated. Inurnment will be in the Floral Hills-East Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation was held prior to the service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to North Kansas City Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
