Tammy Jo Hargrave, 43, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, was born Tuesday, September 26, 1967 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Phillip and Sharon Kay (Downs) Hyatt. She departed this life at 10:29 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at her home in Lee's Summit surrounded with love and family.

On February 18, 1989, Tammy was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Hargrave in Kansas City, Missouri. Tammy was a home health care provider, last working for Amy's Loving Care.

She was preceded in death by her father Phillip A. Hyatt in 1990; her paternal grandparents Harold and Doris Hyatt; and maternal grandfather Charles Down, Sr. and maternal step grandfather Francis James.

She is survived by her husband Kenny of the home; one son Shane Hargrave of Lee's Summit; one daughter Destiny Hargrave of Lee's Summit; her mother Sharon Hyatt of Lee's Summit; one brother Vince Hyatt and his wife Barbara of Independence; one sister Debbie Cox and her husband Kelly of Holden; her maternal grandmother Dorothy James of Lee's Summit; her mother and father-in-law Gerald and Rita Hargrave of Kansas City North; other relatives and many, many friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 2011 at the funeral home. Reverend Harve Smeltzer officiated. Interment was in the Lee's Summit Cemetery. Casket bearers were Mark Downs, Doug Hargrave, Jerry Hargrave, Kenny James, Kent Schrock, and Roland Sneed. Honorary casket bearers were Payton Hargrave and Blake Hyatt.

Visitation was held Sunday, August 7, 2022, at the funeral home.
