Timothy Nelson, Jr

Timothy Nelson, Jr., 79, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born Monday, December 16, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Timothy Nelson, Sr. and Dora D. (Toliver) Nelson. He departed this life Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his home.

On January 8, 1951, Tim was united in marriage to Mary Josephine Graham in Kansas City, Missouri.

Tim was a pipefitter and later a maintance supervisor for the Bendex Corporation for over 30 years retiring in 1992. He also owned and operated a small farm near Pleasant Hill for over 50years.

He was a 33rd degree Freemason and was a member of the Blue Valley Lodge #64, Shrine Allah Temple #6 and the Consistory. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill First Presbyterian Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila Spriggs in December 2005.

He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, four sons Timothy Nelson, III of Pleasant Hill, Carl E. Nelson of Wichita, Kansas, Charles W. Nelson of Arvada, Colorado, and Joel L. Nelson of Pleasant Hill; one brother Theautra Guest of Kansas City, Missouri; 3 grandchildren Cheyenne, Lainie and C.J.; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 27 2009, at the funeral home. Reverend's Madeline and Jeff Mercer officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military graveside services provided by the VFW Post #3118 Honor Guard. Casket bearers were Lawrence Jackson, Jr., Tim Korn, Carl Nelson, Charles Nelson, Joel Nelson and Timothy Nelson III.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home
