TINA M. BOWLING

Tina Michelle Bowling, 61, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born, September 6, 1958, in West Plains, Missouri, the daughter of Billy Gene and Helen Christine (Cawvey) Bowling.  She departed this life, Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at her home.

Tina was a 1976 graduate of Raytown High School.  She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Marysville, Missouri.  She earned her Master’s of Education Degree from Avila College, Kansas City.

Tina started her career teaching English in the Blue Springs School District.  She taught Spanish in Platte City, Missouri; Greeley, Colorado; and Dallas, Texas before teaching in the Lee’s Summit R7 School District. Tina taught at Lee’s Summit High School, Lee’s Summit North High School, and Lee’s Summit West High School where she was also A+ Coordinator.

Tina was a member of the Phi-Mu Sorority at Northwest Missouri State University, where she made life-long friends.  Tina was a sponsor for Spanish Club in LSR7, where she coordinated several school-to-school exchange programs to Mexico, Spain, and Chile.  She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, cooking, bird watching, and spending time with family in West Plains.

Tina was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her son Adam T. Bowling of Lee’s Summit; two brothers, Terry (Rene) Bowling of Kansas City, and Tracy (Michele) Bowling of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Kelly (Ron) Nelson of Kansas City; several nieces and nephews, Jessie Nelson, Carl Bowling, Curtis (Rachel) Bowling, Olivia Bowling, and Ericka (Ardeth) Revels; one great niece, Sophia Revels; other relatives and friends.

Per Tina’s wish cremation has been accorded.  Inurnment was in the State Line Cemetery, West Plains, Arkansas, on August 1, 2020.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the State Line Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
