Todd Michael Dinges, 49, of Pleasant Hill, was born February 8, 1975, in Shawnee Mission, the son of Michael Wayne and Brenda Sue (Ledom) Dinges. He departed this life Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Kansas University Medical Center with Samantha at his side.
Todd was a 1993 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
On April 20, 2002, he was united in marriage to Samantha Marie Morasch in Pleasant Hill.
Todd was a skilled sheet metal worker who was a master at his craft and took pride in his work. He worked for A&D Heating and Cooling in Greenwood and later for Mike Bryant Heating & Cooling in Olathe. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved being outdoors. He also loved golf, watching all sports, hiking, or just spending time on the family farm.
Todd was a big kid at heart and loved interacting with kids. He was actively involved as a coach for the Pleasant Hill Youth Football league for many years with both of his sons. When he wasn’t coaching, he could often be found playing sports with all the neighborhood kids.
Todd was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Davis; stepmother Sandy Knorrp Dinges; paternal grandparents, Gene and Irene Dinges; and maternal grandparents, Max and Irene Ledom.
He is survived by his wife Samantha Dinges of Pleasant Hill; three children Trisha (and Taylor) Scrivner of Harrisonville, John Berry, and Hayden Dinges, both of Pleasant Hill; two grandchildren, Einsley Scrivner and Ellie Scrivner; father Mike Dinges (and Linda Bogue) of Pleasant Hill; sister and brother-in-law, Patrice (and Kenny) Adams of Pleasant Hill; father-in-law, George Morasch of Pleasant Hill; mother-in-law, Colleen (and David) French of Pleasant Hill; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of many friends.
Visitation was held Thursday June 6, 2024, at the funeral home.
A celebration of his life was held Friday, June 7, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Webb officiated with a eulogy rendered by Mrs. Paula Voss. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Kenny Adams, Ronnie Davis, Patrick Harding, Gavin Neill, Jon Voss, and Richard Youngblood.
It was Todd’s wish that everyone wear comfortable clothing and in support of Todd and Hayden they encouraged all the kids to wear their jersey or sports attire.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hayden’s Education Fund and make your check payable to Samantha Dinges. Contributions may be left the day of the services or sent in care of the funeral home.
