Tony Echeita

Antonio Pedro “Tony” Echeita, 65, of Pleasant Hill, was born April 8, 1957, in Boise, Idaho, the son of Alexander P. and Georgia A. (Brown) Echeita.  He was surrounded with love and family when he departed this life Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Research Medical Center as a result of cardiac arrest.

Tony was a 1976 Gooding, Idaho, high school graduate.

On September 9, 1978, he was united in marriage to Darla K. Spotts in Lee’s Summit; they later divorced.  In 1993 he was united in marriage to Martha L. Campbell; they later divorced. On August 31, 2007, he was reunited in marriage to Darla.

Tony was employed in construction for several area companies including Shaw Construction, W.A. Ellis Construction, Greenwood Lumber Company, Cline Construction & Roofing, and most recently for Midwest Lumber in Harrisonville. He was a member of the Laborers Local #264. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, metal detecting, and was an avid Boise State and Chiefs football fan. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and crafting special gifts by hand for each of them.  He was the family grill master and was a tinkerer that could fix anything that was broken. He was always willing to help anyone in need.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard J. Echeita.

He is survived by his wife, Darla of Pleasant Hill; three daughters, Stephanie (and Kyle) Cline of Pleasant Hill, Karen (and Brent) Tennison of Kansas City, Kansas, and Haley (and Travis) Thompson of Pleasant Hill; two step-children, Craig (and Jennie) Fratzel and Nickee Jakes, both of Kansas City, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, Ayden Cline, Ella Cline, Hudson Cline, Logan Tennison, Keelee Dean, Brooklynn Tennison, Hadlie Thompson, Kade Thompson, Kayla Fratzel, Billy Fratzel, Jayme Fratzel, and Kellsee Marlowe; one brother, Michael (and Tonya) Echeita of Peoria, Arizona; three sisters, Patty (and Bob) Lyman of Palisade, Minnesota, Cathy (and Bruce) Cooper of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Delphina Jevnager of Sweet Home, Oregon; other relatives and a host of many friends.

Cremation has been accorded.

Visitation and a celebration of his life was held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the funeral home.  Pastor Matt Harris officiated.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Lay-Clergy and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
