Victor O. Tinsley Jr.

Mar 8, 1961 — May 6, 2026

Peculiar, Missouri

Victor Owen Tinsley Jr., 65, of Peculiar, Missouri, was born March 8, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Victor O. and Dottie (Price) Tinsley Sr. He departed this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Belton Research Medical Center.

Victor was a 1979 Harrisonville High School graduate.

On February 15, 1986, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Crystal Charlene Wilcox in Harrisonville and to this union three most wonderful children, Nicholas, Casey, and Brittany were born. Victor and Crystal just celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Victor was first employed as a Union Iron Worker with Local #10 and later RBI in Harrisonville. He then went to work for the Metropolitan Community Colleges where retired as a public safety dispatcher. Following retirement he worked for Advanced Auto Parts in Belton. Victor’s faith in Jesus Christ was very important to him. He sang on the worship team at Church on the Rock, then most recently was a member of Crossroads Harrisonville Church. In his younger years he spent his time swimming, fishing, riding horses, and competing in roller skating. In his later years he enjoyed the outdoors; he could identify the type of plant or tree, and birds from far off. Victor would go fishing with friends and family, known as a fish whisperer, and was an avid Star Wars and Sci-fi nerd. He loved time sitting around the table talking about God and history, and playing board games with his kids, and grandchildren who knew him as Papa. He will be deeply missed.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Crystal of Peculiar, Missouri; three children, Nicholas (and Shelbi) Tinsley of Adrian, Missouri, Casey (and Amber) Tinsley of Adrian, Missouri, and Brittany (and Phillip) Garrison of Harrisonville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ezekiel Tinsley, Eleanor Tinsley, Kai Tinsley, Leilani Tinsley, Cora Garrison, and Adelynn Garrison; four siblings, Jerry (and Shirley) Trader of Malta Bend, Missouri, Ed (and Melody) Trader of Kansas City, Missouri, Sherry Hunt of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Randy (and Sue) Tinsley of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas; other relatives and friends.
