VIOLA J. TIMBERLAKE
Viola Jane Timberlake, 92, of Lee’s Summit, was born, March 20, 1925, in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of James P. and Ida M. (Wolfe) Bunch. She departed this life, Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the John Knox Village Care Center.
Viola “Vi” was the youngest child of eight and a 1942 Pleasant Hill High School graduate.
On September 5, 1942, she was united in marriage to Gerald D. Timberlake in Belton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2004.
Before retirement, Viola worked as a secretary for Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California and Allied-Signal (Bendix/Honeywell) in Kansas City, Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, country music, visiting with friends and family, and gardening.
Viola was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald Timberlake II; one grandson, Brent Hansell; and seven brothers, Jarrott, Harold, Earl, Francis, Charley, Pryor, and Albert.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley (and Joe) Hansell of Murrieta, California, and Carolyn Passeneau of Chula Vista, California; five grandchildren, Todd, Tammy, Marla, Mark, and Chad; eleven great-grandchildren; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside funeral services and interment will be held Monday, February 19, 2018, in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
