Virginia Baker

Virginia Baker died October 10, 2006. She was born Virginia Louise Mueller in Fayette on October 1, 1953 to Harold and Viola Kampschmidt Mueller. She lived in Fayette most of her life.

She married John Shrum on March 25, 1979. She later married Randall Baker on August 27, 2004 and moved to Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She and Randy died together in an auto accident.

She attended the University of Missouri and Columbia College. She was a certified insurance coder and worked for Shelter Insurance Company in Columbia for 16 years. At the time of her death, she was employed at Kansas City Cardiology.

Virginia was a former Fayette School Board member and a longtime member of Moniteau Chapel. She was very active with her horses and a past member of the Central Missouri Horsemen's Association.

She is survived by her three children, Lisa, Truman and Harrison Shrum, all of Fayette; her grandson, Malakai Graves, of Fayette; her former spouse, John Shrum, of Columbia; a sister, Marilyn Flora and her husband Hill, of Bedford, Texas; two brothers, Chris Mueller and his wife Suzi, of Hudson, Wisconsin, and Mark Mueller and his wife Christy, of Columbia; two step-children, Jesse Baker of Pleasant Hill and Kathryn Baker of Harrisonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 16, 2006 at the Strausburg Baptist Church, Strasburg, Missouri with burial in the Fayette City Cemetery, Fayette, Missouri.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Creek therapeutic Riding Center.
