Virginia L. McKean, 93, Boise, Idaho, formerly of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born Tuesday, January 27, 1914 in Pleasant Hill, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Johnson) Hedrick. She departed this life Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Seasons of Boise Care Center in Boise, Idaho. Virginia was a lifelong Missouri resident, but had lived in Boise for the past 3 years near her nephew Lowell Rosanbalm, for health reasons.
Virginia's early childhood was spent in the Plum Grove area south of Pleasant Hill where she attended the one-room school at Plum Grove. On August 3, 1936, Virginia was united in marriage to James E. Carl in Harrisonville; he preceded her in death on September 3, 1993. On January 22, 1997, she married Jim McKean in Pleasant Hill; he preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.
Virginia was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Celeste Rosanbalm and Clara Myers.
She is survived by 2 step children; and several nieces and nephews in Missouri and Idaho.
Graveside services and interment was held Friday, June 8, 2007, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Chapel. Reverend Carl Knapp officiated.
