William D. "Bill" Warren

Pleasant Hill

William Dwayne “Bill” Warren, 78, of Pleasant Hill, was born May 3, 1944, in Lepoule, Arkansas, the son of William Henry and Myra P. (Redd) Warren.  He departed this life, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Kansas City VA Hospital surrounded with love and family.

Bill was a 1962 Ruskin High School Graduate.  He was a United States Air Force Vietnam War Veteran.

On January 23, 1981, he was united in marriage to Linda L. (Darrah) McHenry at the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.  She preceded him in death on March 16, 2021.

Bill was employed as a service manager for several area Ford Dealerships.  He was a member of the Cass County Elks Lodge and the Cass County Memorial VFW Post #4409, both of Harrisonville.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, tinkering, and building military models.  He especially enjoyed a good game of poker and recently played in the World Championship Poker Tournament in Las Vegas.

Bill was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Warren.

He is survived by two sons, Mike (and Stacey) Warren of Gunn City, and Brian (and Brenda) Warren of Mount Airey, Maryland; three daughters, Darrah Dayson of Kansas City, Carrie (and fiancé Darren Murray) McHenry of Harrisonville, and Ginger Wheeldon of Crawfordsville, Indiana; one sister, Glenda Scott of Belton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been accorded.  No services are scheduled.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cass County Elks Lodge and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
