Zane Krebbs

Richard Zane Krebbs, 63, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was born October 15, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Philip and Karen (Flint) Krebbs. He departed this life, Friday February 10, 2023, at his home surrounded with love and family.

Zane was a 1977 Sherwood High School graduate later earning his Associates Degree from the Metropolitan Community College.

He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran serving active duty from April 28, 1977, to May 4, 1981, and in the reserves from May 5, 1981, to April 27, 1983.

On February 14, 2010, he was united in marriage to Carey Ann May in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Zane was employed as a carpenter in commercial and residential construction.  He was a gifted woodworker, an avid bass fisherman, enjoyed hunting, was a Chiefs fan, and he loved animals.

Zane was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Carey of Pleasant Hill; three children, Curtis Z. (and Whitney) Krebbs of Lee’s Summit, Crystal C. (and Jeff) Hedgepeth of Hampstead, North Carolina, and Kyle D. Krebbs of Harrisonville; one stepson Rick (and Eva) May of Southlake, Texas; six grandchildren, Camryn, Carter, Jazel, Jaylin, Alexandria, and Lauren; one brother, Craig Krebbs of Lone Jack, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Visitation and a celebration of Zane’s life was held Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the funeral home.  Full military honors were conducted by the United States Marine Corps and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3118 Honor Guard. Inurnment was in the Garden City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Hill Animal Shelter and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
