Beverly J. Cunningham, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 18 at the Lake of the Ozarks. She was born on May 10, 1933, in Smithton, Missouri, the daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Detmer) Loveland.

Beverly was a loving, and deeply caring woman who was known for being a wonderful listener and for the joy she found in spending time with her family. Her faith was the foundation of her life. A devout Christian with a strong relationship with God, Beverly grew up in the Presbyterian Church, where she proudly earned 12 years of perfect attendance, receiving stars and bars for her dedication. Later in life, she became a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

At the Methodist church, Beverly faithfully served in many roles. She taught Disciples classes, served as a lay minister, designed the beautiful seasonal banners displayed in the sanctuary, and lovingly decorated the altar. She also coordinated decorations for the church smorgasbord for many years, generously sharing her creativity and time with her church family.

Beverly had a deep love for sewing. She took great pride in creating things for those she loved and in serving others with her gifts.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Loyd H. Cunningham, whom she married on May 30, 1952, and with whom she shared the great love of her life. Together, they raised three daughters, building a family rooted in faith, love, and devotion. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Pruett, with whom she shared companionship in later years. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Walter Loveland.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Rev. Kimberly Cunningham, Teri and Don Stout, and Kelly and Stacy Bryant; her grandchildren, Kaleb and Melissa Pfaff, Emily Pfaff, Levi Bryant, and Amber Humfeld; her great-grandchild, Ethan Pfaff; a sister, Barbara Pittman; and nieces and nephews.

Beverly will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, her creativity, and the deep love she had for her family and church. Her legacy of faith and love will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Heckart Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Foster officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
